First Day: M, February 4 for kids 10 years old and younger. Tu, February 5 for kids 11 years old and older.
Location: Nordhoff High School track (light rain or shine).
Days: Monday and Wednesday for athletes 10 years old and younger. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for athletes 11 years old and older.
Arrival Time: 4:55 p.m. with all bathroom, snack and water needs addressed.
Starts: 5:00 p.m.
Ends: In February, practice ends at 6:00 p.m. Starting in March (after Daylight Savings time), practice ends at 6:30 p.m.
Cancellation: Practice cancellations are posted on the home page of our website at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the day of practice. Please check the website to see if is cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstance.
Athletes must wear appropriate shirt, shorts, socks, running shoes and water.
Athletes should also bring a sweatshirt and sweatpants.
During practice, athletes train to compete in the following Track & Field events:
Track (Sprints): 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, Hurdles (80 m, 100 m) and Relays (4 x 100 m or 400 m and 4 x 400 m or 1600 m)
Track (Middle / Distance): 800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m
Field: High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put
