The Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC) has 3 Finals events:
The “League Finals" (All athletes): A Finals competition between the "East" and "West" teams within the VCYTC. (Formerly the "JV Finals").
The “Conference Championships” (Qualifiers Only): A Finals competition between teams within the VCYTC with athletes who achieved a "Top League Mark" in an event during the Regular Season.
The “Co-Conference Championships” (Qualifiers Only): The finals competition between the top finishers from the VCYTC Championships and the Southern California Youth Track & Field Conference (SCYTFC).
League Finals: Saturday, May 4
West Teams: Hosted by the Heritage Valley Blazers at Fillmore H.S. and includes the Newbury Park Panthers, Ojai Roadrunners, and Ventura Tigres.
East Teams: Hosted by the Thousand Oaks Flyers at Thousand Oaks H.S. and includes the Camarillo Cosmos, Heritage Valley Blazers, and Thousand Oaks Flyers.
Conference Championships: Saturday, May 11 at Moorpark High School. Co-hosted by the Moorpark Striders and Oxnard Stars.
Co-Conference Championships: Saturday, May 18 at Moorpark High School.
Although the League Finals and Conference Championships are run separately on 2 different days (May 4 and May 11), the League treats these finals as 1 continuous meet spread over two event days.
General Eligibility: Athletes can compete in events they competed in during the 2019 Regular Season (March 16 - April 27) and achieved a result posted on Athletic.net and / or the VCYTC website.
Athletes cannot compete in a “new” event (or compete in an event for the 1st time) at the Conference Final or Conference Championships. (Ex. - If you child did not compete in Shot Put during the season, s/he may not now decide to compete in that event in the Finals or Championships). Your athlete may only compete in an event s/he already tried during the regular season (March 16 - April 27).
Saturday, May 4th at Fillmore H.S. (West Teams), Thousand Oaks H.S. (East Teams).
Participation in the League Finals is open to any athlete who competed in an event as noted above, but did not achieve a "Top League Mark" in that event (see below for Top Marks).
Event Limit: Athletes not competing in the Conference Championships the following week have a four event limit at the Conference Finals, which includes a maximum of 3 running events. (Competing in the 4 x 400 m Relay does not count toward an athlete’s 4 event limit). See Event Limits for additional information.
Rules for Athletes Who Qualified for the Championships on May 11 and Plan to Compete in the League Final on May 4:
1) Event Limit: Although the League Finals (May 4) and Conference Championships (May 11) are run on 2 separate days, the League treats the Finals and Championships as 1 continuous meet spread over two event days. Therefore an athlete competing in the Championships on May 11 may only compete in no more than 4 events total over the two event days.
2) Event Entry: Athletes who qualified for the Championships MAY NOT COMPETE in any of their qualifying events in the League Final on Saturday, May 4. (Ex. - if your child qualified to compete in the 100 m and Long Jump in the Championships on May 11, s/he CANNOT COMPETE in the 100 m and Long Jump this Saturday, May 4).
Saturday, May 11th at Moorpark H.S.
Participation in the Conference Championships is limited to athletes who achieved a “Top League Mark” during the Regular Season (March 16 - April 27) as follows:
Among the Top 9 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group for a "laned" event (80 m Hurdles, 100 m Hurdles, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m).
Among the Top 12 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group for a "non-laned" event (800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m).
Among the Top 9 in the VCYTC League in his/her age group in a Field Event (Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put).
In addition, each Club in the League will have 1 Relay team (in the 4 x 100 m, 4 x 400 m), for a total of 8 teams.
Go to Results to see a list of Top athlete performances in the VCYTC League.
Event Limit: There is no limit to the number of events an athlete can compete in during the Championship. Athletes can compete in as many events in which they have earned a Top result. However, the number of events an athlete participates in at the Championships decreases the number of events that athlete can compete in during the League Finals the week before.
Saturday, May 18th at Moorpark H.S.
The Co-Conference Championship is the final meet of the season and includes the Top finishers in the previous week's Conference Championships (May 11) from the Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC) and our sister league, the Southern California Youth Track Conference (SCYTFC).
Go to Championships for additional meet information (posted a few days prior to the meet).
