First Day of Practice:
Monday, February 3 for athletes 10 years old and younger.
Tuesday, February 4 for athletes 11 years old and older.
Location: Nordhoff High School track (light rain or shine).
Monday and Wednesday (2x a week) for athletes 10 years old and younger.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (3x a week) for athletes 11 years old and older.
Arrival Time: 4:55 p.m. with all bathroom, snack and water needs addressed.
Starts: 5:00 p.m.
Ends: In February, practice ends at 6:00 p.m. Starting in March (after Daylight Savings time), practice ends at 6:30 p.m.
Cancellation: Practice cancellations are posted on the home page of our website at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the day of practice. Please check the website to see if practice is cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstance.
Last Day of Practice:
Thursday, April 30 for athletes who do not qualify for the Championships.
Thursday, May 7 for athletes who qualify for the Championships (Sa, May 9).
Thursday, May 14 for athletes who qualify for the Co-Conference Championships (Sa, May 16).
Athletes must wear appropriate shirt, shorts, socks, running shoes and water.
Athletes should also bring a sweatshirt and sweatpants.
During practice, athletes train to compete in the following Track & Field events:
Track (Sprints): 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, Hurdles (80 m, 100 m) and Relays (4 x 100 m or 400 m) and (4 x 400 m or 1600 m)
Track (Middle / Distance): 800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m
Field: High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put
